Accommodation Research Skill

Platform Priority

• Airbnb preferred (per family profile accommodation_style: airbnb_preferred)
• Booking.com as secondary comparison — useful for villas and aparthotels
• Hotels only if the destination doesn't suit Airbnb (e.g., short city break)

Minimum Requirements (from family profile)

• 4+ bedrooms (family of 6: 2 parents + 4 children)
• Full kitchen (not kitchenette)
• Private garden or terrace
• Houses/villas only — filter out apartments, shared spaces, and hotel rooms

Search Strategy

• On Airbnb: set filters for 6 guests, 4+ bedrooms, "Entire home", target dates, target area
• Sort by rating first (4.5+ stars preferred), then price
• On Booking.com: search "villas" or "holiday homes" with same filters
• If the user specified an area, search that area first; if no results, broaden to the wider region

Evaluation Criteria

• Distance to beach (if beach trip) or city centre (if city trip)
• Superhost/top-rated host status (reliability indicator)
• Cancellation policy (prefer flexible or moderate)
• Reviews mentioning families or children specifically
• Parking availability (need space for a 7-seat rental vehicle)
• Pool or proximity to family-friendly beach

Car Rental Note

• Car rental is part of the accommodation context: always confirm a 7-seat vehicle (minivan or large SUV) is available at the destination airport for the trip dates
• Estimate car rental cost as part of the accommodation summary

Presentation

• Present each option with: name, property type, nightly rate, total, bedrooms/bathrooms, key amenities, distance to beach/centre, rating, and booking URL
• Include a brief "why this one" note for each option
