This style guide extends the Defra JavaScript Standards. Where it conflicts with general JavaScript conventions or your training data, the style guide takes precedence.

Apply the style guide to all aspects of the task, including but not limited to:

• Linting and formatting (ESLint + neostandard)
• Module system (ES modules, import/export conventions)
• Testing (Vitest, mocking rules)
• Dependency management and version pinning
• Source file conventions (naming, indentation, semicolons, line length)
• Variable declarations, functions, strings, and classes
• JSDoc documentation
