cc-statusline

A modular, themeable statusline for Claude Code — written in pure bash, zero runtime dependencies beyond python3 (already on macOS/Linux).

Why

Claude Code accepts a custom statusLine command that's invoked on every prompt. Most setups inline a long shell snippet in settings.json — hard to maintain, no themes, no segment reuse. cc-statusline ships:

• 17 ready-made segments (model, dir, git, cost, diff, duration, context, tokens, profile, caveman, time, battery, node, python, kubectl, aws, session)
• 6 themes (Catppuccin, Dracula, Nord, Tokyo Night, Gruvbox, Minimal)
• TOML config at ~/.config/cc-statusline/config.toml — pick segments and order, theme, separator, icons on/off
• Powerline mode when you have a Nerd Font installed
• Bash 3.2 compatible — works on stock macOS, no Homebrew bash needed
• Fast — sub-50ms render, segments run in independent subshells so a stuck git command can't block the whole bar

Install

Option A — Claude Code plugin (recommended)

/plugin marketplace add torpedo88/cc-statusline
/plugin install cc-statusline@cc-statusline

Restart Claude Code. The plugin ships a default statusLine config that points at the plugin's bundled script via ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT} — no manual settings.json edit needed.

The plugin also registers four slash commands:

Option B — standalone install
