using-devex-kit
The canonical starting skill (inspired by superpowers' using-superpowers).
Always invoke first on any devex-kit-eligible task:
/using-devex-kit <describe the work>
It classifies intent, returns the exact target skill + copy/paste invocation, handles sequencing for multi-skill flows (story → DX → authoring is common), and gives local load instructions. Treat it as the router that makes every other skill discoverable and correctly applied.
Install it individually or as part of the full kit — then start every relevant session by typing /using-devex-kit.
Documentation
Generic devrel skills for documentation workflows — useful to any devrel professional regardless of tech stack.
docs-contribution-router
Routes documentation contributions to the right content type, placement, template, and workflow — before the contributor writes a single line.
Five branches:
- API reference — docs-side flow for landing a regenerated spec (does not cover the upstream source repo)
- Agent connector — hard stop on editing generated pages; walks through
_setup-*, _usage-*, _section-* templates and pnpm run sync-agent-connectors
- Content placement — decision tree: cookbook / how-to / concept / reference / quickstart; explicit Aside anti-pattern rule
- Integration guide — section skeleton, frontmatter starter, screenshot workflow (VS Code paste-image extension)
- Escalation — severity-tagged (low → critical) for IA/tooling/override changes; maps to CODEOWNERS paths
Scalekit-specific paths are in references/scalekit-*.json. External consumers drop their own configs at <docs-repo>/.devex-kit/ — no edits to SKILL.md required.
docs-writing-style
Two-mode writing guide.
- Handoff mode — exports a paste-ready style prompt for the contributor's coding agent (Claude / Cursor / Copilot). Includes voice rules, SDK variable naming, code standards, and content-type supplements.
- Review mode — runs a quality rubric against a draft. Reports PASS / FAIL / WARN in priority order; ends with the single most impactful fix.
Scalekit-specific prompt block in references/scalekit-style-prompt-block.md. Template for other sites in references/_template-style-prompt-block.md.
authoring-cookbooks
Diagnostic skill for documentation quality — skimmability, writing clarity, and reader helpfulness.
journey-sidebar-labels
Assistive skill for sidebar navigation: group labels, item labels, and order should follow a developer journey (setup → core loop → scale → ship). Includes a reference model derived from Scalekit Full stack auth in sidebar.config.ts and label rules from the docs standards (concise, sentence case, outcome-focused).

sdk-craft
Design, build, document, and ship SDKs that developers love. Covers the full SDK lifecycle:
- Design — API surface principles, progressive disclosure, error message framework, type safety patterns
- Build — Client patterns (single, modular, factory), error hierarchies, HTTP internals, TypeScript implementation
- Document — Inline docs, README quickstart, generated reference
- Ship — Bundling (ESM/CJS), versioning, changelogs, migration guides, npm publishing
Consolidates guidance from SDK design philosophy, TypeScript SDK development, and SDK documentation generation into one lifecycle skill. Includes language idiom guides for Python, JavaScript, Go, and Java.
devrel-tooling
Build CLI tools and API utilities that developers on your platform actually use. Two domains:
- CLI tools — Command hierarchy design, argument parsing (commander/click/typer/cobra), configuration layers, shell completions, interactive prompts, progress indicators, cross-platform UX
- API collection generation — Postman Collection v2.1 generation from Express, Next.js, Fastify, Hono, NestJS, and Koa routes
Includes framework-specific scanner implementations and UX pattern references.
mcp-server-craft
Build MCP servers that AI agents actually want to use. Covers the full lifecycle:
- Design — Tool naming (verb-noun, 64-char limit), schema design (Zod/Pydantic Field descriptions), resource URI patterns, LLM-readable descriptions
- Build — Project structure (TypeScript and Python), transport selection (stdio vs Streamable HTTP), async patterns
