BMAD Agent Development Automator — source repo

This repository is the source repo for the BMAD Agent Development Automator (architecture View 1, per docs/architecture.md lines 1048-1107). It is not the user-facing distribution unit (View 2 — what gets installed into a user's BMAD project from bmad-autopilot/skills/, agents/, hooks/, schemas/, and config-templates/), and it is not the planning workspace (which lives outside this repo, alongside the BMAD module installation that produced these specs). Contributors checking out this tree are looking at View 1 only.

Architecture & Boundaries

• Architecture — ADRs (001–006), SDN-001, Implementation Patterns 1–7, and the View 1 / View 2 / View 3 project structure. The single source of truth for technical decisions; canonical per architecture.md View 1 line 1056.
• Implementation Patterns — operational layer codifying Patterns 1–7 with rationale, scope, do/don't pairs, and per-pattern enforcement-type tags (CI-enforced via naming-lint for Patterns 1+2; CI-enforced via Ruff/mypy/pytest for Pattern 6; review-enforced for Patterns 3+4+5; hybrid for Pattern 1 cell-1 schemas and Pattern 7). Companion to architecture.md § Implementation Patterns lines 919-1006.
• TEA vs. Automator boundary — what TEA validates vs. what the Automator exercises, the QA-AC-only rule, and the canonical First-Run Orientation Message text. Operationalizes PRD FR34 (one-time TEA-boundary orientation at init), grounds PRD FR16-FR25 (QA behavioral verification scope) and PRD FR38 (TEA hard-dependency at init), and locks ADR-002's dependency-profile total-block.
• Git hygiene — the operation-scope rules the Automator follows when touching git, plus the canonical per-story branch naming convention bmad-automation/story/<story-id> that Story 2.3's branch lifecycle module reads at implementation time. Operationalizes PRD NFR-S3 (git operation scope) and the destructive-operation halt-with-diagnostic guidance from Story 1.12a's AC.
• BMAD-extension audit — the public BMAD-extension audit listing what the Automator extends, what it bypasses, and what it leaves untouched. Operationalizes PRD FR65 (public extension audit at MVP); created by Story 1.11.
