ike — Claude Code plugin
Research skills and a research-assistant subagent for working with your ike
document corpora from Claude Code.
This plugin does not bundle an MCP server connection. Connect ike to Claude
first (one-time, OAuth-based), then install this plugin.
Install order
1. Add the ike MCP connector
Open the ike app and go to Settings → Connect. Follow the instructions there
for your client:
- Claude Desktop / claude.ai — paste the server URL into Customize →
Connectors → Add custom connector, then sign in via OAuth.
- Claude Code —
claude mcp add --transport http ike https://ike.2sf.co.uk/mcp
then complete the OAuth flow in your browser on first call.
The canonical server URL is https://ike.2sf.co.uk/mcp. Settings → Connect
always shows the correct URL for your deployment if it differs.
The plugin assumes the connector is registered under the name ike. If
you've used a different name, the skills still work (they reference tools by
short name) but the research-assistant subagent picks up tool inheritance
from whichever ike-shaped server is connected.
2. Install this plugin
Works in Claude Desktop and Claude Code (macOS and Windows). ChatGPT
and other MCP clients use the connector + built-in prompts instead — they
cannot install this plugin.
Claude Desktop: Settings → Plugins → Personal tab → + next to
Local uploads → Add marketplace → enter petervines/ike-claude-plugin
→ Sync → install the ike plugin. (Prefer Add marketplace over
Upload plugin so you get upstream fixes automatically.)
Claude Code:

From a local checkout of ike-scholar (internal team workflow):

Restart the client if the skills don't appear.

Agent
research-assistant handles deep, multi-document investigations autonomously.
Claude dispatches it when you need:
- Comprehensive literature surveys across many documents
- Comparative analyses
- Briefing documents on broad topics
- "Tell me everything the corpus says about X"
The agent inherits whatever tools your registered ike connector exposes; it
does not pin a server name.
Troubleshooting
Ask Claude "test my ike connection" to invoke the connection-test skill,
which interprets the most recent error and maps it to a fix.
Common cases:
- Tools not visible — connector not yet added. Visit Settings → Connect.
- 401 / unauthorized — OAuth token expired or revoked. Re-authorise in your
client's connector settings.
- 403 / scope error — your account has no access to any corpus. Contact
your administrator or check your plan.
- Network error — verify the server URL on Settings → Connect; check
connectivity.
Status
Source of truth lives in the ike-scholar repository at plugin/ike/. It is
published to the public marketplace repo
petervines/ike-claude-plugin
via git subtree — that is what end users install. Internal developers can
also install from a local checkout (see above).
License
UNLICENSED — proprietary software for ike subscribers.
