seedance-video

Create, prompt, plan, and automate AI-generated videos with Seedance 2.0 (Jimeng / BytePlus ModelArk, doubao-seedance models).

When to use: Turning photos or an existing clip into a moving short / vertical / social / Instagram / Reels / marketing / ad video, or making, prompting, storyboarding, or fixing an AI-generated video — even when "Seedance" isn't said by name.

Example invocations:

• "Turn this 40s café clip into a 30s vertical Instagram ad for a different roastery — I have photos"
• "Seedance keeps rejecting my reference clip with 'resolution not supported' — fix it"
• "My stitched clips' background music restarts at every cut — make it one continuous track"
• "Write a script that submits a doubao-seedance-2-0 task to ModelArk, polls, and saves run.json"

What it does:

1. Defines the deliverable and binds each reference asset to one clear role (@图片1 identity, @视频1 motion/camera, @音频1 rhythm)
2. Writes director-style prompts — single-shot, multi-shot time-segmented, or video-extension to beat the per-generation length cap
3. Prepares any source clip into Seedance's accepted reference window so it isn't rejected for resolution/duration (scripts/prepare_reference_video.py)
4. Submits and polls ModelArk async generation tasks and saves reproducibility metadata
5. Post-production: concatenates clips losslessly and lays one continuous soundtrack across a multi-shot edit (scripts/concat_videos.py)

Bundled scripts: prepare_reference_video.py and concat_videos.py self-bootstrap a static ffmpeg into a gitignored local venv — no system ffmpeg required.

Prerequisites

Before using this skill:

1. A Seedance 2.0 portal or API access — Jimeng, BytePlus ModelArk (ARK_API_KEY), or Volcengine Ark
2. Rights to any input media — do not use celebrity, copyrighted-character, or private-person likeness without permission
3. Python 3 — for the bundled post-production scripts (ffmpeg auto-bootstraps)
