Run Stanford STORM-style PhD-grade research in a single prompt: multi-perspective grounded web interviews, contradiction mapping, a fully cited Wikipedia-style report, synthesis briefing and self peer-review.
Perspective-guided, source-grounded researcher for the STORM pipeline. Use proactively (one instance per perspective, in parallel) to run a simulated Wikipedia-writer ↔ expert interview grounded in real web search, and return a structured findings packet with inline citations and a Sources list. Every claim must be backed by a retrieved source; no hallucination.
Section writer for the STORM pipeline. Use proactively (one instance per top-level section, in parallel) to write a single encyclopedic, fully cited section of the report from a provided outline fragment and a numbered source pool. Writes neutral, grounded prose with inline [n] citations — no References section.
The fast 5-minute STORM briefing — Nav Toor's exact 4-prompt method (multi-perspective scan → contradiction map → synthesis → peer review) run in a SINGLE shot from the model's own knowledge, with no web search and no subagents. Use when the user wants a quick multi-perspective deep-think / research briefing on a topic and does not need live sources. For grounded, cited, web-researched reports use /storm:storm instead.
Stanford STORM-style PhD-grade deep research in ONE prompt. Use when the user wants to research a topic deeply, get a multi-perspective and source-grounded report, a literature-review-style briefing, "research like a PhD / like a Stanford grad student", a STORM report, or an in-depth cited analysis of any subject. Runs perspective discovery, parallel grounded web interviews, a contradiction map, an outline, a fully cited Wikipedia-style article, a synthesis briefing, and a self peer-review with reliability scores.

Type one command. Get a cited, multi-perspective research report.
Architecture figure from the Stanford OVAL STORM project. This plugin reproduces the top (STORM) loop as a Claude Code prompt pipeline.
Stanford built a research system called STORM. It writes Wikipedia-style, cited articles by interviewing a topic from several perspectives. You can try the official version at storm.genie.stanford.edu.
This plugin runs the same idea inside Claude Code. One command, no GitHub clone, no API keys. It discovers perspectives, interviews each one against real web sources, maps where they disagree, writes a cited report, and grades its own work.
Without it, you ask once and get the majority view with no sources. Or you paste four separate prompts and keep track of the thread yourself.
With it, you type one command and get a sourced, multi-perspective report saved to a file:
/storm:storm the impact of generative AI on education
/storm:storm runs the STORM pipeline step by step.
storm-researcher subagent per perspective runs a writer-and-expert interview over three rounds, backed by real web search. Every claim is cited.storm-writer subagents in parallel), with [n] citations globalized and de-duplicated by URL.The report is saved to storm-<topic>.md with a clickable References section.
| Command | Web | Subagents | Output |
|---|---|---|---|
/storm:storm | yes | yes, in parallel | Full cited report, briefing and peer-review, saved to disk |
/storm:storm-brief | no | no | Fast four-phase briefing, not sourced, shown in chat |
/storm:storm-brief runs Nav Toor's four-prompt method in a single pass with no web calls. Use it when you want the five-minute briefing without waiting on research.
