Homelab brain plugin for Daniel Guntermann. Provides full infrastructure context, MCP tool routing, and deployment workflows for a two-site RHEL/Podman homelab across Claude Chat, Cowork, and Code.

What it does

• Auto-loads core context at every session start — hosts, IPs, hard rules, MCP routing, service map
• On-demand deep detail — detailed container lists, HA entity breakdowns, network topology, service configs
• Slash commands — live health checks and container status with one command
• Deployment guide — step-by-step workflow for deploying a new Podman service

Components

Usage

Auto-loaded context

The brain context loads automatically — no action needed. Every session starts with the hard rules, host table, MCP routing table, and service quick-reference already in context.

Commands

/health                     — live health check across all hosts
/containers                 — running containers on terminal
/containers gate            — running containers on gate
/containers gate --all      — all containers on gate (including stopped)

Skills

The homelab-context skill loads automatically when you ask about:

• Specific containers ("what version is n8n?", "what's running on gate?")
• Services ("how is Traefik configured?", "what's the DNS setup?")
• Home Assistant ("how many entities does Stadium have?", "what devices does Lounge have?")
• Network ("what VLANs are there?", "how does the SD-WAN work?")

The deploy-service skill loads when you ask about deploying or adding a new service.

MCP Requirements

This plugin assumes the following MCP servers are connected:

• Core — mcp__Core__terminal__* and mcp__Core__gate__*
• Home — mcp__Home__ha-stadium__* and mcp__Home__ha-lounge__*
• Network — mcp__Network__apollo-10__* and mcp__Network__apollo-6__*
• Cloudflare — mcp__c0cb83c9-1ffd-45f6-814d-d3324b4ed4bb__*

These are served via MetaMCP at mcp.danctrl.net. Connect the MetaMCP endpoint in Claude's MCP settings.

Keeping the brain current

When infrastructure changes (new container, updated version, new route), update the relevant file in skills/homelab-context/references/ and re-package the plugin.

For major changes to the two-site topology or hard rules, update context/brain.md.
