Salesforce Docs Claude

Portable Claude plugin marketplace plus local MCP server for Salesforce documentation search via an owned corpus built from official Salesforce PDFs.

What is included

• .claude-plugin/marketplace.json: GitHub-hosted Claude marketplace definition
• plugins/salesforce-docs/: the installable Claude plugin for Claude Code and Claude Cowork
• plugins/salesforce-docs/salesforce-docs-mcp/: audited local MCP server plus corpus build scripts
• scripts/package-plugin.sh: builds a Cowork uploadable plugin ZIP from the plugin directory

What is not included

• Downloaded PDFs
• Built SQLite database
• node_modules/
• Python package cache state

Those are built locally inside Claude's plugin data directory on first setup.

Claude Code install

Anthropic's current plugin docs support GitHub-hosted plugin marketplaces and .mcp.json plugin bundles.

1. Add this marketplace in Claude Code:

/plugin marketplace add herzogpeter/salesforce-docs-claude

2. Install the plugin:

/plugin install salesforce-docs@salesforce-docs-claude

3. Run the first-time setup skill:

/setup-salesforce-docs

The setup step installs runtime dependencies, downloads the official PDFs from the checked-in manifest, and builds the local SQLite corpus. The first build takes several minutes and uses several hundred megabytes of disk.

Claude Cowork install

Anthropic's Cowork docs currently support uploading a custom plugin file, while organization admins can also distribute plugins through marketplaces.

1. Clone this repo.
2. Build the custom plugin ZIP:

bash scripts/package-plugin.sh

3. In Cowork, upload dist/salesforce-docs-claude-plugin.zip as a custom plugin file.
4. After install, ask Claude to run setup-salesforce-docs or invoke the setup skill if the UI exposes slash-style plugin skills.

• salesforce-docs: automatic skill for Salesforce documentation questions
• setup-salesforce-docs: installs runtime dependencies and builds the local corpus
• refresh-salesforce-docs: refreshes the current manifest's PDFs and rebuilds the database
• diagnose-salesforce-docs: reports runtime, corpus, and path status

Security posture

• Official Salesforce PDF URLs only
• Download-time PDF signature validation
• No runtime network access after the local database is built
• No npm postinstall hooks
• Minimal runtime dependency surface
• Local read-only search over a SQLite corpus
