simplify

Before reviewing:

1. Read CLAUDE.md from the repo root for project conventions and build commands.
2. Read /tmp/REVIEW.md if it exists. If not found, proceed without patterns.
3. Read /tmp/PROJECT-PROFILE.md if it exists — use service layout to understand shared module locations for duplication detection.
4. Read /tmp/GLOSSARY.md if it exists — domain terms defined there are intentional naming, not candidates for simplification.

Analyze the provided diff. If no diff was provided, print "No diff provided — exiting." and stop. Look for:

1. Duplicated logic that could be extracted into a shared module (check PROJECT-PROFILE.md for shared module locations)
2. Unnecessary complexity — can a function be simplified without losing clarity?
3. Missing error handling at system boundaries (HTTP calls, database queries, file I/O)
4. Opportunities to use existing shared modules — check for existing utilities before writing new ones
5. Dead code — unused imports, unreachable branches, commented-out blocks

For each finding:

• Explain what's wrong and why
• Suggest the fix (do not edit files directly)
• Keep scope minimal — only analyze code in the diff

Report findings by severity: blocker > medium > low > nit. Include file paths and line numbers for each finding.
