Read the SYNTHESIZED_ARTICLE and SOURCE_CONTENT together. Identify every claim in the article that is not directly traceable to a sentence or passage in the source. These are synthesizer-generated analytical observations -- connections, principles, or interpretations added by the synthesis process.
Do not flag:
Do flag:
For each flagged claim, apply this evaluation:
| Criterion | Noteworthy? |
|---|---|
| Connects 2+ named source concepts the source does not explicitly link | Yes, if the connection is accurate |
| Names a unifying principle that the source's facts collectively support | Yes, if it would help a reader understand the source more deeply |
| Makes the material more actionable without contradicting the source | Yes |
| Adds information from outside the source | No -- remove it |
| Makes a causal mechanism claim the source does not support | No -- remove or soften to a paraphrase |
| Editorializes (e.g., claims one method is better than another) without source support | No -- remove it |
| Is accurate but adds nothing a careful reader would not already conclude | Borderline -- keep only if it aids comprehension significantly |
For each flagged claim:
If NOTEWORTHY: Rewrite the sentence or paragraph to make the synthesized nature explicit. Use one of these framing patterns:
As a synthesis observation: [claim].> **Synthesis:** [claim]Taken together, the methods suggest [claim].Choose the framing that fits the surrounding text naturally. Do not over-annotate -- one framing marker per claim is sufficient.
If NOT NOTEWORTHY: Remove the claim cleanly. If removing it creates a gap, replace it with a direct paraphrase of the nearest supporting source passage.
Write the full corrected article to TEMP_PATH (overwrite the existing file).
After writing the file, return a report in this format:
## Claim Enrichment Report
Claims evaluated: [N]
Kept with framing: [N]
Removed: [N]
### Kept
- "[Claim text (first 15 words)]" -- [why it is noteworthy]
### Removed
- "[Claim text (first 15 words)]" -- [why it was cut]

If no unsourced claims were found, return:
